Oh no! my dog teeth fell out!?

My 7 months old maltipom is having fungus problem so that i have to give him capsules twice a day and it%26#039;s really really hard to do. Last night when i put it in his mouth and close his mouth, his tooth fell out! Did i close it too hard?? But dog teeth are supposed to be strong aren%26#039;t they?? They%26#039;re not supposed to fall out if i close his mouth too hard right?? This is my first time owning a dog and I%26#039;m so panic right now but my vet is unavailable! Do you think my dog is ok?

Oh no! my dog teeth fell out!?
It%26#039;s a baby tooth. Even when you think they have lost all the baby teeth...there are more. My 6 month puppy knocked one out the other day (and swallowed it :[ )

It was an %26quot;extra%26quot; tooth - which means there was no space for an adult tooth to come in behind it. I think they have a few more baby teeth than they will have adult teeth. Dont%26#039; worry about it. The adult teeth will be much stronger.

YES - even at seven months, they can still have baby teeth. I know - I was surprised too when this happened to me.
Reply:Don%26#039;t worry, he is loosing his baby teeth. Completely normal - it happens to all dogs. Watch where you are walking with bare feet now though, it hurts when you step on them!!! If you notice some blood in his mouth, or on his toys, that will be why so don%26#039;t get so worried.

ADDED: Yes, that is right around the time they lose them
Reply:dont worry! BABY TEETH!!
Reply:if hes a baby dog they will come back ok
Reply:I would not worry about it . he is probably just loosing baby teeth. my dog%26#039;s teeth fell out when she was a puppy too.
Reply:it was probally a puppy tooth it should be fine.

and if you are really concerned then ask you vet.

good luck!
Reply:ummm... dogs loose baby teeth just like people.

=] I have been with dogs my whole life and they are supposed to.
Reply:Relax, just his baby teeth:)
Reply:I did the exact same thing. My chihuahua would bite and my vet told be to grab him by the snout ( not too hard) when he did it and say NO...soo one time I did this and when I let go he acted like he was chewing something and spit out a tooth! I freaked out..just as you are...and I called my vet and they told me it was baby teeth! And then I started to notice him spitting out teeth quite a bit. I am sure that I saw my chihuahua spit out about 5 teeth...until he was close to a year! Don%26#039;t worry a bit. You did nothing to hurt your dog. Good luck!
