How many times do dog teeth fall out and can dog have teeth surgery?

How many times do their teeth fall out? once? My dog%26#039;s two front teeth are already grown in, and two more are growing in the same area, just behind it, when the grownin teeth falls out the growing in teeth right now will be behind all the other teeth, is there teeth surgery or somnething? Is this a bad thing to be misplaced?

Take this pup to your vet, the vet will probably pull the teeth so that the adult teeth can come in normally.

Yes the vet will charge you to do this. It depends on how far in the adult teeth are. Pulling the baby teeth should correct the problem if done early enough.

Just like people, they lose their baby teeth and get in their permanent ones, do not expect a dog to lose teeth again after their adult teeth come in.
Reply:If the permenant teeth are growing in behind the puppy teeth then you need to see a vet to have the puppy teeth removed. They can cause all sorts of problems if they%26#039;re left the way they are.

Yes the vet will charge you. It%26#039;s just the same as if you needed a tooth pulled.. Most vets do it under anesthetic so that it doesn%26#039;t hurt the dog. The adult teeth should continue to grow in fine once the puppy teeth are gone. If you wait too long to have it done though, the adult teeth will already be completely grown in and it could cause more tooth problems later in life.

Dogs only have 2 sets of teeth just like humans. Their puppy teeth and their adult teeth. They lose their puppy teeth at about 4 to 6 months old and, if well taken care of, could easily have their adult teeth for the rest of their lives.
Reply:dogs like humans have baby teeth, these are replaced by the adult teeth. normally that%26#039;s it. rare occasions a 2nd adult tooth maybe be impacted or come in later, but it%26#039;s extremely rare. if you%26#039;re planning on having your dog spayed or neutered usually your vet will pull any retained baby teeth at that time. just to be sure it%26#039;s done make sure you ask them to. but it%26#039;s not a good idea to just pull the baby teeth if the adult tooth is not coming in yet, it can cause problems with placement of the adult tooth. but if the adult tooth is in and the baby tooth is not lost it needs to be pulled, it not only can cause misplacement of the adult tooth but can attract bacteria and debris and keep it in the dog%26#039;s mouth. but i would wait until the dog is at least 6 months old before pulling any remaining baby teeth.
Reply:Dogs have baby teeth and permanent teeth. And the vets at our clinic do not pull the baby teeth until all the permanent teeth are in place. Usually the baby teeth will be pushed out by normal chewing and playing. There is no reason to worry about them until after 8-9mo of age. They just pull any leftovers during a spay or neuter. I have even seen them pull them during the 1yr check up if they are very loose- no anesthetic.
